Dynamic Warm Up
and Strengthening

Mark Kovacs, PhD

This month we are introducing an entirely new on court training program developed by leading sports scientist, coaching educator, and tennis performance trainer, Dr. Mark Kovacs.

This series of articles was developed exclusively for Tennisplayer and is very different from the other classic training programs in our archives from Paul Roetert and Pat Etcheberry. (Click Here.)

Based on the latest research in the field, this series shows players at any level how they can develop world class fitness through exercises done entirely on the tennis court, using a few cones, rubber tubes and tennis balls. It's simple and practical for players at all levels, as well as perfect for competitive players when traveling.

In the premier article, Mark presents an original, dynamic warmup that prepares and strengthens the body for working out, playing, or practicing. Subsequent articles will focus on developing tennis specific power, quickness, and endurance. We've wanted to work with Mark for quite a while now and are extremely glad to have the opportunity to present his unique training perspective!
