We need some clips of Rafael Nadal in the stroke archive...I want his forehand

I couldn't agree more. We planned to film him at Indian Wells but he didn't play.

If we go to Montreal he will be near the top of the list.

      Nadal and Sharapova

I think that Nadal's forehand exagerated the forearm rotation, with a lot of spin as a result, but not as much pace to serve for us as a model of perfectness. His forehand are so sucessfull because of the enourmous phisical and phsycological skills. Federer looks miles more natural and as well more beautifull, when shooting a forehand.

Well it's hard to argue with Roger...I think the goal is to have as many top players as possible so we can all look, study, compare, learn, enjoy!

There is an inevitable phenomenon I call "the stroke of the moment." I've seen it even with tour players, including one guy in the top 100 I've worked with (who shall remain nameless...) Whoever is playing really well that week, well it must be his technique and I want to copy that. It's great obviously to be inspired by great play, but sometimes I think this fickle mentality doesn't serve the player and that we should be a little more circumspect and always looking for commonalities as well as differences.

          Thank you John

          Thank you, that's it exactly,

Find the similarities between the strokes, make sure that those are prersent, then let the students develop their own flair.

I agree and the best way to do this is by the repeated examination of as much video as possible and by reading and reacting to things like what John wrote on the forehand. It seems we are coming out of the dark ages and learning to actually see things and rethink things because it's not one opinionated pro versus another. Now the players themselves are speaking thru the video.
