Solderling Strokes

On his serve, the toss arm does not stay up long but he still gets incredible torque, perhaps from his deep knee bend and leap forward-he lands well into the court. On forehand take back, his racket is pointed toward the left fence it's so far, and he is moving forward, forward, forward on all shots.

Robin's FH is quite the contrast to the ones like Federer or Querry who have virturally no backswing and extreme racquet head lag as the racquet head is virtually slapped into the ball. I was watching tennis channel one time and during the broadcast, one of the commentators mentioned that the uniquely brutal Soderling FH is not one that could be taught. I thought at the time that was a good evaluation of it. On a side note, it is always a pleasure to listen to the tennis channel commentators, especially after having to get through a match with someone like Mary Carillo.
