Just watched a 1st round obscure match Gasquet vs a young 18 year old Frenchman Athur Fils. Very impressive win for Fils. Gasquet is still so tough, and his superb backhand is still firing. A tough way to make a living, no doubt. Next up for young Fils, RBA.

Young Arthur Fils looks like the real deal. He just took out the pro's pro, the benchmark, RBA, in 2 sets, really bullying him around a bit, which is really hard to do. He is 18, very mature mentally and physically. He has all the weapons. Times are changing.

Cressy serves and volleys(and basically hits 2 1st serves) and gets a 3rd set tiebreaker win over Rune. He definitely earned it. A hard fought match. He plays Sinner in final tomorrow, where he will be underdog again.

Didn't see the match but funny you mention Cressy going for two first serves. I looked at the stats and Cressy won 88% of the points on his 1st serve and 88% of the points on his 2nd serve. That says it all.

Might try and pick up the final if I can get it in my neck of the woods.

It is going to be a very tough ask for Cressy. Sinner is the real deal. His easy power is off the charts.

Yes , he has come up with a new system. I guess he is using a lower tension racquet for serving, and a more tightly strung one for returning?

Sinner wins the 1st set in a tiebreaker, very small margains. Cressy serving big and he has of course very good volley technique/skills, and a very good overhead. He may be the perfect build for his serve and volley tennis, 6'5" or 6'6", very athletic. Of course a lot of players have that build now, Med, Zverev, Khachanov, Tsitsipas, FAA, but none of them anywhere close to the volley technique and skill of Cressy. Medvedev is just simply a bad volleyer. Khachanov not much better.
