More discussion of Ben Shelton's "biggest serve" is surfacing { he has the fastest so far at AO at an impressive but hardly historic 141.7 mph (228 km/h) and given the players left in the field, nobody is likely to approach that figure. }. So, I dug for AO ace stats.
Since, to me at least, it's kind of meaningless to compare total aces between people that played differing numbers of matches, I added "Aces per match" to the AO's paltry statistics. And, yes, it would be better to have aces per set .... but my fingers are tired so I leave tat as an "exercise for the reader" <g>
Note that, as is often the case for the men, the top servers are rarely in the semifinals and beyond in recent years. Quite different than the women (next post)
Sidebar: And, yes, it would be far more meaningful to have "unreturned serves" and if I can be greedy "Serve + 1" points won, but alas, this is what the mighty Craig Tiley choses to dribble out to us data paupers.
