Sounds like a "Hopman Cup" to replace so-so "ATP Cup"
I always thought the Hopman was tremendous so I'm optimistically hoping this is as good or even better.
Telegraph excerpts:
The likes of Emma Raducanu, Andy Murray and Cameron Norrie will be able to team up for Great Britain next year in a new annual ATP and WTA mixed tournament which will allow men and women to represent their countries together.
Millions of pounds of prize money will be on offer for those playing in the competition. The United Cup will be held in various cities across Australia before the Australian Open in January. It will replace the male-only ATP Cup as the curtain-raiser to the season.
~~~~~~
Organised by Tennis Australia, the exact format is still to be confirmed but it will likely involve at least 16 nations competing in a round-robin group stage, after which a knockout format will follow. Ties will involve men’s and women’s singles, followed by a mixed doubles match.
