I'm not sure what food Hurkacz is presenting but it has his Polish flag ... pierogi dumplings perhaps? Berretinni has, what else, Italian pizza. Tsitsipas, perhaps Greek Souvlaki skewers? Zverev with German sausage and bread?

I like it. But from my grudge-holding point of view, it would have been funnier if Tsitsipas was missing from the table and you could see the gent's bathroom door in the background.

Novak engaged and dialed in vs Rublev. Rublev has a bit too much of that 90's/early 2000's run around forehand style. So much pressure on his forehand to make in happen vs Novak, simply too much.

2 very good matches today, Zverev vs Hurkacz, and the match of the day. Medvedev vs Sinner. Sinner has the game it seems to really trouble Medvedev in these conditions. We will see.

Haven't been able to watch but scanning as I duck in and out, the difference in this stat is telling: Unreturned serves. The Octopus is a sneaky good server & a darned good returner.

I wonder what it is like to have most of your serves not come back? More of my serves come back when I'm hitting at an empty court. < g >

I think Meddy's return has improved over the last 6 months. He's getting more back and taking a leaf out of Novak's book at times, hitting deep down the middle. It's really pressurising when all but your very best serves are coming back.

I'm rooting for Sinner right now.

Quite the match for a dead rubber. Medvedev ran away with the 1st set, just doing what he does at his best. The 2nd set was quite the battle, Medvedev totally engaged and Sinner answering the level and eventually taking the set on his own merit. Hard to believe how good Sinner is for his age. A couple of other guys do come to mind though.

Ruud gets by Rublev in a very gutty effort. Those 2 have such similar games, that 90's early 2000's always seeking a forehand. One thing was evident, Ruud's is even bigger than Rublev's. I have Ruud as my 4th favorite for RG after Nadal, Novak, and Alcaraz. Ruud makes the final 4 here with the win. Very impressive.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Novak beatdown on Norrie. I actually thought there was a significant chance he would just phone it in as he had absolutely no motivation, but he went ahead and delivered the beatdown. Novak seems to really be thriving as the only one really left standing of the greatest 3.

Nadal lite was always going to be easy as he hasn't lost to the real Nadal on a hard court for around 8 years.

I only saw a bit, but Ruud seemed to be trying to hit flatter on his serve. On clay it's all big kick. Guy's still growing!
