So the elbow is pulled back, behind the body stretching the pec, and then at the initiation of the racquet drop which should roughly coincide with the leg drive (Roddick, Opelka, and others drive the legs first, some weaker servers drive the legs after) the elbow comes slightly in front of the chest, the racquet drops and we have liftoff.
Anyone do specific coaching on this? I find if the elbow is left behind it exposes the tendons on the inside of the elbow and creates a golfer's elbow situation in addition to lost power/hand speed but relaxing the arm and pushing with the legs doesn't really mesh with getting the elbow out in front.
Thanks!
