I have been coaching a long time and have watched countless juniors rise through the age groups. It is very tempting to play the wise old sage but it's a mug's game to do so. No one has a crystal ball and some kid's can really surprise you. Some look astonishingly good at a young age yet nothing really comes of them, while others (slow burners I call them) who don't look too good early on, but go on to be accomplished players.

Tim Henman was the most famous one to be overlooked as a junior over this side of the pond.

But, yes, predicting players will leave you with egg on your face at some point.

Is it just me or doesn’t Korda look legit for the USA! I could see him in the top 10 fairly soon. Who knows maybe there will be egg on my face!
I’d like to see the US bring Craig O on exclusively. He did wonders for the Italians! Invest in the talent and get with the times playing tactically smarter patterns.

Which Korda? This one's got her gold already !

One wag said that Sebs could be a great tennis player and still be the worst athlete in his family

The jury is still out on Sebastien. There are high hopes in some circles but those type of hopes often turn into disappointment. His time is a couple of years away if at all...I think. His sister's time has come. An amazing story. A golf story nonetheless.
