Fritz really looks good winning the 1st set vs Alex. Fritz really has a nice overall tennis game. Alex looks a bit rattled losing the 1st set. Taylor has the same kind of disposition out there as Korda, a calm self belief.

Roger is horrible match up for Norrie. Norrie is a little unorthodox and you don't want to be playing Roger with an unorthodox game. You imagine Roger is going to expose the Norrie backhand by pulling him around laterally. Norrie needs to hit big and hit deep to have any chance whatsoever.

I really do think Roger could play at this tournament until he is 50.

Yes, Fed has his most beautiful game on grass. Hard not to wonder how his Wimbledon history would be without Novak. Maybe in the conversation for the toughest ask in tennis.

Or Novak without Roger...or without Rafa. Which makes me feel confident all their records will be broken. All it needs is someone as good as the Big 3 but to have no rivals for a five years. Look how many titles Roger mopped up before Rafa and Novak turned up...about twelve. Most of his slams were won before Rafa and Novak hit their best.

Someone will win 30 one day.

Not sure how confident Roger is deep down. Playing Norrie is like playing a junior for him. I just get the impression Roger is searching for confidence but is struggling to find a real test yet. It's going to be interesting because I can see his side of the draw opening up. He just needs more matches and confidence.

Roger really exposing Norrie's restricted backhand in this match...shades of Roddick.

Spot on, Fed has a great draw. His first test to me seems another round away vs Medvedev.

A little late to the party but…damn Gasquet looked old! I remembered a kid with a backwards ball cap. Now he looks like a washed up Frenchman

I also noticed that I’m unable to catch any coverage on NBC…I did some Googling and it looks like you can only catch it on ESPN. Did NBC lose the contract or something?

Alex impressive in getting past Fritz. The more I watch Alex, the more I like him. He has one thing in common to me with the 3, he is absolutely interested and realizing his full potential. His potential is not at the level of the 3, but he to me is realizing his potential.

Roger has answered quite a few questions between this match and the Richard Gasquet match. There are still a couple unanswered. But...the moment of truth. Serving out the match. Roger is the best in the business in the past. This is a real clue as to who the real Roger Federer is now.

Well he didn't exactly slam the door but he finished things up after going down 15-30. Next up...Lorenzo Sonego (ranked #27). The progressive steps couldn't have been any more perfectly laid out. He gets by his next round and it looks like Daniil Medvedev, aka Mr. Pencil. Hmmm...this is getting very interesting. Roger style.

NBC sucks unless you like to watch Serena. Bite the bullet and stream ESPN. It does not cost much.

I arrive back home from work to find Roger had dropped a set. It's not a great sign that but so long as he gets through that's fine by me. Normally you could count on one hand the number of games a player like Norrie would get off Roger.

Medvedev about to go 2 sets all with Cilic. Good. We need Medvedev to get through. The tournament desperately needs some good match-ups

These next couple of rounds look really interesting to me! There are some young guys that really have a chance to get a feel for what the semis of Wimbledon feel like. Korda and Shapo for sure and Berretinni and FAA. Then Zverev has about as good a look at another slam final as he’s going to see for awhile. Then of course the Roger story line is beyond intriguing. I wish they’d play some tomorrow, but luckily Monday is a holiday and I’ll take it!
