    Great writing, So interesting that the coach let Laver develop spin around a continental grip and achieve that level of success. Also interesting to know that the Laver gentlemanly, mild- mannered emotional state of mind would reappear again to achieve greatness through Federer.

      I was thinking the very same thing about the grip...but remember then the ball was bouncing so much closer to the earth. It was skidding much of the time on the grass at the three Slams. Even though Roger wasn't always the mild-mannered Super Hero we see now it is just another reaffirming comment on my teaching paradigm. All roads lead to Roger and unfortunately at this point in time it appears to be a dead end.
