Best Point 2020...
The season is young. In fact...the Italians are saying it hasn't even been born yet. But how's this for the best point of the season. Match point for Federer in the third round against John Millman. Federer with less than his best stuff all day long has been pushed around the court but he hangs in there with some real "True Grit".
Match point...Millman big serve down the middle in the ad court. Federer blocks back relatively deep...rule number one, keep the ball in play. Millman pounds into Federer's backhand and Federer slices to just past the service line on the backhand side of middle. Millman tags a forehand and he may have hit the baseline and Roger just gets his racquet on it at full stretch and lofts a high floating shot desperately trying to get it as deep as he can will it to the backhand side of Millman's court. Millman runs around the forehand...the rest is history.
