  • Lack sidespin on Slice delivery

    Hi Again John ,

i was hoping you could direct me to an article or provide some advice on how to increase a slice delivery for my service. (The curling skidders)

My problem seem to lie in the inherent topspin component since i'm swinging up into the ball.

Often when i attempt to hit a slice, it gives off a poor sidespin service with more than intended topspin.

I am aware of the change in swing path from the supposed "left to right" for righties however i cant seem to actually execute it despite being aware of this change. When i attempt to actually hit it in an exaggerated toss (more right than up) the serve usually blows for some weird reason.

Once again thank you for the site and putting in the time to help

        slice serve

Try tossing the ball slightly more forward and to the right and rotate your thumb inward extremely fast . The quick pronation will "brush "the ball up and left to right faster than trying concentrate a "brushing" motion with the triceps.
