  • April 2019: Tim Henman Forehand Volley

    Tim Henman Forehand Volley

Last month, Tim Henman's impeccable backhand volley. (Click Here.) This month his impeccable forehand volley.

Tim's motion demonstrates all the core fundamentals. The body turn, the hitting arm shape, the forward swing generated by a push with the back shoulder. The variations in the backward arm rotation depending on ball height. Minimalistic and formidable.

For more on all this, check out my article, Ultimate Forehand Volley Fundamentals! (Click Here.)

Very simple mechanics. No unnecessary hand movements. Debunks the old school teaching of 'punching the ball'. In fact the high speed video shows what 'catching the ball' or 'absorbing the opponent's pace' means. Brilliant video !
