Warched Murray play #93 in the world Marius Copil(I was not familiar with him) a couple of days ago. Murray gutted it out somehow in 3 long sets but Copil looked like the better player. Copil was dictating on almost all points and had a much better serve than Murray. Hard to believe a 27 year old that looked as good as him has never cracked the top 50. Murray retired from the tournament yesterday. Interesting match today, Zverev vs Tsitsipas. I much prefer Tsitpitas' game and attitude out there. Tsitpitas really seems to trust his game and does not ever seem to get whiny out there.

Thanks for this good account of the tournament I used to attend most often, the tournament where Ivan Lendl once stopped play to step toward the seats to stare up at a particular fan and say, "Why don't you just go..." Reader, you can fill in the rest.

No it wasn't me. I was sitting court level, right by Lendl. But then when a whole bunch of other fans started to ask, "What did he say? What did he say?" and I told them, Lendl stood stock still and glared straight at me.

(He had a bad back, I believe, and did not enjoy being heckled, and lost the match to a journeyman.)

I am not certain about his name pronunciation. I saw the match. Zverev looked every bit the future multiple grand slam winner a lot of us on this board have predicted. He dominated, particularly off the backhand. His backhand did look better that Djokovic's, as Stotty had alluded to in some thread. In fact, his bh, fh, and serve looked better than Novak's. He has already won 3 Master's 1000's, more than any other active players other than the so-called big 4(or three). He has to be serious threat to win any Grand Slam at this point. The oddsmakers had him at about a 73% chance of winning the match vs Tsitsipas, and I thought that was a little strong. They were right as usual.
