  • Pete Sampras Forehand

He sure does link the backward and forward bod rotations. As an old guy, I may not relish the thought of having two sequenced backward rotations (one with opposite hand on racket, one with it off), but if you're fast enough I guess that would work. But I'm really interested in shoulders going one direction and then in the other with nothing in between. Does Roger Federer do that? I think so. Do Fabio Fognini and Aga Radwanska? I think not.

A good forehand. Probably the best ever at that point in time.

What if that point in time is this point in time?

That's good question and I am not sure I can answer it. We are in a era where every player, except Benoit Paire, has a humungous forehand. But I still fancy Pete's forehand was as good as most today, and certainly on a grass court.

I always found it strange that his forehand return of serve wasn't all that good.

I always felt like Agassi had the best forehand I had seen before Federer era. I really liked Aaron Krickstein and Carlos Moya also.
