The amazing Kimiko Date finally retires aged 46. She was thrashed 6-0 6-0 in her last match but that is far from the point. A tiny woman with a tiny serve and, come to think of it, a tiny game. But she knew how to make herself difficult. She had Steffi Graf in her sights at Wimbledon one year but the rain stepped in to ruin that upset.
