  • 1 Handed BH Help

I have a couple questions about a 1 handed backhand, if anyone can help that would be great. I'm right handed. Normally for my backhand, I used closed or square. After I hit my shot I have a hard time recovering if the ball comes back quickly. For my forehand if I use square, I'm not sure if it's during or after but I bring my right foot forward so I can recover easily. For my backhand should I be doing the same? And when during my backhand should I do it? I know a drill that can help improve my explosiveness but it doesn't do too much good if you don't know what you're doing. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Another question, I recently have been using a mild bh eastern grip, and I am having some difficulty with low balls. They aren't so low where I have to slice them back but when I try to brush up, they get nice net clearence but unfortunately lacking the spin to bring the ball down into the court. Every time I look hopefully that it would loop like my forehand but it kept going. I realize they are low balls so I would have to get under the ball more, bending my knees more. So do you think my problem is a product of me not getting under the ball and then brushing up which is making the ball go out? Because I really hope that my problem is that simple but I wonder if you have any feedback you could give me about other possible issues.
