  • The Official Homeschool For Coaches, Player And Parents Thread ...

    Saturday October 25th, 2014

Today's lesson is Tom Brady. Worst skill-set of any player EVER in the NFL combine. Lacked the tools necessary to make it. Yet, he delivered when it mattered. No one worked harder, or studied more.

    The video is here:

    The lesson plan:

    - ignore the noise

    - ignore the hype

    - don't worry about how the next guy

    - take it all VERY personally

    - study the game on your own

    - find a unique way to play to best maximize the skill-sets god handed you to "best challenge" you as an athlete

    - and most importantly lie to yourself, Brady knew he wasn't as good as other QB's, however, he told himself he'd get their in the end, and he did

    - back it all up with a Hall of Fame work ethic.

Any other home school things you guys want to add in here would be just great as well.

Friday October 24th, 2014 lesson plan

Germany's new superstar - Friedrich Liechtenstein

Rather interesting, as this "player has major game"

This homemade video turned into a video that is world renowned now.

How does this apply to tennis?

Well, he's 55, and he's finally made it BIG.

    Here is his story:

So, my question to all of your here is simple.

Is anyone here on this man's career path, and headed to coaching super stardom, and what are you doing to get their?

Quite the inspirational story for us old farts who are trying to make their mark isn't it?

Thought I'd share it to brighten everyones day.

It is never to late boys to be GREAT.

This was our first home school lesson of the day!

Be original, follow your own developmental path, work out your own unique technique and don't give in!

Every morning at breakfast we play this song, and sing it BTW. It's a habit. And, it starts flowing.

Out the front door every morning thinking these key thoughts from what is perhaps the most well thought out, and brilliant piece of motivational advertising ever put on planet earth (the Gillette ad).

We've modified it a bit, however, it's a great message to develop championship children, and a family team.

    You're looking (feeling) good.

    You're looking (feeling) sharp.

    You've come so far.

And we know how to make the most of who you are!

Father to son (our family, all of us, wife to husband, husband to wife, parents to kid and kids to parents) - its what we have always done!

    The best

We give you all we have to give (everyone, parent to kid, kid to parent, its a two way street here)

Where the race is run, you’re (we're) the champions

    The best!

    Live it. Be it.

The NFL Combine can only measure and observe so much. It cannot determine the inner fire, strength and leadership abilities it takes to be one of the greatest ever. Tom Brady is also a fellow Michigan Wolverine. Go Blue!!!! Hail Hail Hail To The Victors. The Leaders and the best!

I still want to develop those NFL skill-sets! Don't get me wrong. They can't hurt!

However, yes, inner fire, strength and leadership abilities, those are sure three that take a long time to develop. Tom Brady's father and mother set up paid off in a big way for that young man. Looks like apple did not fall to far from the tree in that interview with the kids dad.
