  • Question on tennis in Brazil

The wife has an insane stupid offer to coach in Rio on the table (Brazil).

Guys, wanted your opinion here on tennis in Brazil.

Good place for development, tournaments, close to Florida, weather, food, travel, western lifestyle and all the rest?

Brazil. Gorgeous Country. Gorgeous People. Incredible Food. Fair Share of Socio-economic problems but what country doesn't? Depends on where in Brazil you are looking. Not sure of tournaments in Brazil but you are in South America. Argentina and Colombia are some neighbors and their tennis federations have ambitions. Good luck.

Funny you mention that, my daughter said to me, "You mean I won't play extreme winter outdoor tennis anymore?"

I think a good person to talk to would be Carlos Goffi who was a top junior in Brazil in the 1960s then came to the U.S. to play for what was then an excellent team at the University of Corpus Christi and then stayed in the U. S. to coach. He has run a successful Nike summer camp for years. He also wrote a good book called Tournament Tough. He also does some clinics in Brazil. I can send you his email address by private message if you want.
