The World Team Tennis Season is about three weeks long. Each team has a star or "franchise" player along with two other men and women. They spend a lot of time and effort on making it fun and exciting. There are some progressive rules that makes things interesting. Time outs, player substitutions etc. In fact, the other night during the women's doubles segment, Liezel Huber got injured and had to sit out. Because the team had already used up all of its substitutions, Instead of retiring or forfeiting the match, the team had just one player on court (Taylor Townshend) playing against a full doubles team on the other side of the net. WTT has some entertainment value however many of the players in the league are B or C list tennis stars.
Or D through F never heard nor seen of tennis stars. Seems artificial to me, and cannot survive. Too bad we can't have time machine matches: laver against Fed. Budge against Serena. My money is on Serena for a 2 and 2 blow out.
