Okay, question here for the veterans.
Great Wimbledon level champions who won without world class foot-speed.
I want to chart out matches on a chess type grid, and I'd like to start with "slow" to "fast" to chart differences.
Who are the best players who've managed to get by on playing a chess board style of game to make up for their inadequate foot speed?
Davenport, Bartoli and Sharapova?
What about McEnroe, do you all consider him fast, or just smart and skilled with his hands? Safin wasn't especially fast right? Roddick?
