When I first saw him play, I thought his rotation was extreme. Nowadays, seems like a lot, but no longer extreme to me...

I don't remember this guy...fascinating player. Shame he had to quit at aged twenty one...tragedy.

Well, he certainly has a deep turn on his backhand....and steps across with his right leg like it's a religion...Borg-like. His forehand is weird the way he just drops the racket down like that. He hits the serve right on the apex of the toss, just like Roscoe Tanner did.

You don't see quirky players like this anymore. I find him quite fascinating. Thanks so much for posting the clip. I think I'll watch it again.

I think you mean Kent Carlsson. He was Nick Bollettieri's poster boy in Prince Racquet ads during the 1984 Wimbledon. The infamous 1984 Wimbledon.

He likes a really closed stance on that backhand, doesn't he? I find this slightly unusual. I find he gets the benefit of disguise with his forehand since the racket is hidden behind his body as he loads. I imagine he'd be tricky to play the first couple of times, then it's likely you could read him like a book. Slightly unorthodox players always pay the price of becoming increasingly predictable.
