Fed cannot answer Nadal's forehand, whether it's to his back hand, or to his forehand. He will not address this issue. He raises his hitting foot, before and during contact, on his bh side, which is a no confidence/take his balance/timing out of whack move, that he has never addressed. Wawrinka stays grounded on his bh side, and beats Nadal on cross court rallies by then going dtl with it, after making Nadal think he's going cc again. Fed cannot do this. He also has trouble with hitting too short, which allows Nadal to then go to Fed's fh side. The solution is this: address/fix/change the footwork error. Stop hitting short. Practice against high shots on both sides, which his fh grip is also making too many ues against Nadal. He needs to close off his grip more towards a western so he can handle Nadal's high balls to his fh side as well without making so many ues. String tighter with the 98 sq. in. frame. ONly go into the net on shots that have Nadal in trouble.
