Tips on my Serve

Your serve
The clips are fine. It's easy to see enough. You can most definitely improve your serve by adjusting some basic things.
Two points to work on:
1. Adjust your stance. Some pro's have extreme stances, but they are seldom suitable for club players. You are far too sideways on. Point your front foot at the net post and have your back foot more directly behind it. The feet should be shoulders width apart or just over. Agassi may be a good example for you. Many club players may benefit from the front foot being pointed slightly more forward than Andre.
2. LOOK to where you are serving (like Agassi is). Not at the side fence! If you look towards where you are serving it will give you a better sense of direction and enable you to serve more accurately. You'll also twist your torso toward the net by doing this which will also lead to a more a orthodox serve.
There are other things to work on but master these two things first, then come back. Coaching is incremental. You can only work on a few points at a time.Last edited by stotty; 06-05-2012, 01:49 PM.Stotty

the kishnabe serve...
I agree very much with Mr. Stotty. First we must examine your setup and determine what stays and what goes. Remember each move is determined by the move preceding it. Your setup greatly influences you backswing...and your backswing greatly influences your forward motion to the ball.
Just one other thing. Since you don't appear to be very tall perhaps your serve should be developed with an emphasis on spin and placement.
Take a look at this thread that was initiated by none other than licensedcoach...aka Stotty and tell me if you can glean anything from this discussion.
