Virginia Heinecke. One of the members brings up a very over looked, and a very important point: Grunting can "reflect" the energy of the impact, and deflect it from hurting your body. How do you think these martial arts guys can break so many hard, stacked blocks without breaking their own bones? It can prolong your career and derail injury and pain, whether the intention of the grunter is to do so or not! I don't like the worst cases as much as the most conservative guy on here. It's annoying and can be disgusting, but the matches are more intense for it, the battle harder fought, the energy more genuine and less guarded. So I have learned to table my own disgust and try to be more neutral about it.
