    Efficiency...The Tennis Machine

I love the use of the word efficiency when it comes to describing tennis motions. Every swing begins with the manner in which the feet are placed.

Instead of compact swing...can we say efficient swing? If so, now we can say that Federer has efficient swings and efficient footwork. Is one the result of the other? Or is it a reflection of his overall tennis philosophy in how to approach a tennis shot? His tennis game appears to be one big compilation of efficient motion. Federer is a tennis machine. A rather sublime way of putting it!

Watching Roger in "Forehand Not Gone", the music video...what impresses me is the lack of wasted motion. He is "Poetry in Motion". The lack of injury over the course of his career is further testimony to use of "efficient motion". Astute observation.

Check this out...stevenmila, if you haven't already.

So what do you think? Chicken or the egg?
