The courts are getting quicker the last few days, D_Budge. Temperatures around 30c have dried out the courts. The courts are quick-ish and the bounce higher. We are in Nadal territory when the courts are like this I feel. So long as he is fit, he's looking favourite.

It's now possible to serve and volley and for it to be an advantage....problem is there ain't S&V player out there...Llodra is second rate and a poor substitute for a Becker or an Edberg....very depressing, isn't it.

      Manic Depression...Jimi Hendrix

Roger must really of done something to irritate you...I can't get over that you are pulling for someone else than your own countrymen. Interesting. Nadal seems to be dying for attention. Now he is parading around without his shirt. What will he think of next?

Thanks for the assessment of the conditions. They are a big factor as it is.

My personal madness tends to be manic...I think. Excited and quick to react. They have over compensated and miscalculated. Nobody in their right mind would of engineered the game to be played like this. What do you think, Stotty?

Now they are putting their heads together trying to figure out how to restore some balance to the game. Maybe they could monkey around with the balls next. I played the kid with some really dead balls on red clay the last couple of days...it was more like the game was played in the past. It's all about control.

Look for the usual suspects in the final four.

Actually, I am half Italian... aside which, I am not chauvinistic... and Roger is only half Swiss... complicated situation... I just go for players I like, don't care what their nationality is...

D_Budge - It was definitely the right decision to slow down the grass courts as the game was getting more powerful. They just went too far!

Rafa is a bit like Borg used to be...once into the second week....the ball bouncing higher and sitting up...he becomes favourite. Let's hope he stays fit. There is a buzz around Nadal whenever he plays. The tournament will suffer without him.

            Surprise, surprise

When I left the house today...Roger was up comfortably 2 sets and it looked like "the Kid" had Djokovic on the run and completely off balance. Life is full of changes and surprises, isn't it?

There goes the life of the tournament as far as I am concerned. Kudos to Tsonga...he played a great match. Federer only had one break point in the first two sets and he converted it. This makes Wawrinka's win over Tsonga in the French look even more impressive after being down two sets. Ladies and gentlemen...Elvis has left the stadium.

I'm with you Larry...he's the hottest player on the tour. It's his time to seize the moment. I hope he drinks an extra dose of FitLine and pounds that "hot dog" into next week.

                          Just too good

You can say a couple of key points, but Novak was just too good, especially in long points!

you have to give novak alot of credit for not cracking.
losing the 3rd set 1-6 and cplose to getting broken in the first game of the
                                4th set.
but somehow he wins that first service game and the rest is history.
lose that first service game and.........????????????????
but he didnt and hes #1.
