Seems like all the top groundies keep their wrist locked, back, and achieve high speed/acceleration with the structure of the locked wrist at impact, take back and follow through. The "snap back" of the wrist, as the shot slings forward, provides a sling shot effect, while the wrist stays locked back at impact, after a very fast U turn into the shot. if the wrist is not locked back at impact, the shot has nothing on it. You have the big take back guys, Sod, Delpo, Tsonga, Gonzo, Joker, all doing it differently, yet, still at impact, the hitting structure is locked back and the wrist cannot go back any more at impact, with the best shots, anyway. Same on bh, with Henin, Almagro, Wawrinka, Kuerten, arm barring and lock backing, into a supinated follow through on heavy topspin shots.
