on the other thread people mentioned masny things that went well for roger and not so well for rafa.
how much difference did annacone make do you think?
to me feds been much more aggressive since paul's been on board.
the fact that fed continued to try to run around the backhand and hit a forehand on second serve means it was part of a gameplan he beleived in and stuck with it.
in spite of the terrible missses he had the first few times he tried it.
he had a gameplan. paul helped tp shape it.imho
not sure fed always had a specific plan.


the low bouncing ball which landed into a better contact point on feds bh sure helped also.

No doubt Anacone had an influence on affairs. Tactically, Roger played a great game. But I also feel it was a combination of two other factors: Federer is back to his best. But Nadal has had five weeks out and was below his best. We'll get a better picture at the Aussie Open if they both make the final and are both at the top of their game.

I thought Fed's sliced serves out wide to the deuce court were key to him winning his service games easily. In one key game he caught Rafa out wide four times in row and Rafa had no answer.

Rafa was sluggish, though, so it's hard to get a true picture.
