  • Your best article yet!

The Dotzenrod article is your best yet. Especially when you mentioned that "I had to smile when she said she bought a battery powered ball machine." When you use a visual cue, and couple it with an emotional response, and then something done, like refining her strokes, everybody can see in their own mind's eye, you smiling, and you enjoying her dedication to improvement, which is the whole mission for the site, our own improvement, and then we visualize that gorgeous amazon woman, with the blue voodoo eyeballs, and firm frame, smacking forehands, off the battery fed ball machine!
I would also like to see more quotes from people. It would be interesting to hear what Dotzenrod thinks, says, feels herself about her own game.. Same with Pat Ca$h. That's what makes the coach videos so interesting. We get to hear, the guy talking, and the inflections he uses, and gestures, and emphatic responses, almost as if we are in the same room with him.

Good suggestions! Danielle told me and Joel Drucker and quite a few other people she knows in tennis media, that the Your Strokes project was "the best thing that ever happened" to her tennis.

Didn't want to appear to be bragging, but since you asked...

Yeah next time I run into Pat it would be great to get him on camera.

I played Joel 26 years ago, in a local open tourny. I won 3 and 2, on a windy day, at the old horse track courts, in Albany, ca. He was very gracious in defeat, smiled at me kind of sheepishly, shook my hand and said, "Good luck in your next match." He is a lefty. Good writer. Plays at the Berkeley tennis club a lot. Wrote a piece on training with the aussies once. Sand was blowing off the bay beach into our eyes. The wind was so bad, it took my toss 6" off to the left. Had to switch to a kick serve the whole match, safe and aggressive adaptation, due to his inability to return it off his bh, while he loved the few flat balls I got in on my serve. Won the tourny.

Daniel might be the best thing to happen to outside of tennis! Striking figure and those voodoo eyes are verrryyy rare. Part of what made that article so good. I'd like to see her use her legs more. Daniel, call me. I'm in Montclair. Just kidding! (Too old for her now.)
