John...is there any possibility to get more space for titles for threads? Currently we are limited to 85 or 95 characters.

Now that is a loaded question! There is a history of animosity from Wegner and his disciples toward myself and Tennisplayer. He has attacked me personally on Forums and in letters to people in many of the governing organizations. He has shown tremendous dishonesty. He is a devout scientologist and if you know anything about that you know they (and he) believe difference of opinion must be supressed.
I know a lot of people have results with his stuff. Right on. But some of it is just crazy. Prepare after the bounce, etc etc. Years ago we published an article of his on Tennisone--probably the only time I did something with a coach I regret. We couldn't find video that corresponded with his theories and the whole thing turned ugly and ridiculous.
As for Tim, his system is aimed at high performance at the highest levels. And I would agree most kids would be lost. Simpler is better. Fun is better. Fun in fact is the whole thing. It makes me realize I have never really written about how I used to run my junior camps for average kids ages 4-12. And it wasn't by exploring internal shoulder rotation... I should get around to that! Although I am not an expert the colored ball system seems to be redressing the balance for average kids. Let's face it usta competition is toxic. The vast majority of kids never play a second tournament. And I agree we've got young players and old players and far less in the middle!

I don't know about you or anybody else in the forum, but there appear to be a couple of generations of tennis players missing from the two clubs to which I belong. there are always juniors in the clubs, always have been and always will be, but there are very few 30 something and 40 something players. those that are there took it up late, not when they were kids. i truly believe it is because of the teaching systems and methodologies used in the US that make tennis such a difficult game to learn. i don't think mayotte's 'new' ideas will help much.
about 15 years ago, when my kids were little, i got frustrated with the lessons provided at the clubs and started teaching them myself using the oscar wegner method. they improved rapidly and started to love the game. i wonder why this method has never been discussed in tennis player. in looking at the european players, particularly nadal, they seem to use at least part of his method.

John are there any articles on TP that deal with correcting an early leg drive on the serve? I have a kid that constantly hits the upper end of his string bed and sometimes the racket frame because he drives up a fraction too early. The best success I've had so far is lowering his toss but this doesn't suit his motion particularly well.

I wonder if it is problem with my mac rather than a general problem with your website. Let me know how Jeff gets on.
