If I recall correctly Johannsen hit 51 aces vs Agassi in four sets -- and lost. I still say Pim-Pim was the best server I've ever seen -- on the two days a year he's healthy.

Britain's John Feaver hit 42 aces (a record that stood for many years) against John Newcombe in their 1976 Wimbledon encounter yet still went on to lose. Feaver had a lovely service motion. What was even more impressive is that he hit those 42 aces with a wooden racket...which is infinitely more impressive than doing it with a modern day bat. And for anyone who doesn't believe me, pick up an old Dunlop Maxply and try serving a few aces yourself.

Well, you had to catch him on one of those two days a year his shoulder wasn't injured, like Agassi did <g>.

John, Would you explain your interpretation of "Shot Tolerance" for me/ the forum? Listening to Paul Annacone say that Jensen Brooksby has "high shot tolerance", I realized that people use the term differently.

Some seem to treat shot tolerance as a mere synonym for consistency. Others seem to be referring to the types or the quality of shot you can handle, i.e. he can return a high backhand. or he can handle a heavy forehand.

Any time I hear Annacone say something, I tend to pay attention. Wondering if there is more to it than I've realized. How/ if it relates to learning tennis.

    Thanks in advance. / jim

These spammers seem to be on the increase and invading quicker than the Taliban. Is there anything that can done about it or is it something the forum must live with?

I guess on the plus side they sometimes dig up old posts that are quite interesting to read though again.

Yeah some are just purusing the Forum since we left in open to attrack subscribers others are probably spammers but for whatever reason they make minimal posts...
