Great question! 6 of one... but really you need both!
I would strive to find one of those older Casios on ebay or whatever... Nikon had a similar auto camera that we found worthless in auto mode...
We paid above retail for our second discontinued Casio, and gladly given what else is out there right now--but one thing I know, it will change...

Question about Auto vs. Manual Shutter
Hi John,
I am interested in purchasing a camera for a significant amount of video analysis, and I read your article here http://www.tennisplayer.net/members/...yer_part2.html.
I have also read the following thread in the forum
http://www.tennisplayer.net/bulletin...17758#post1775
It appears that the newer Casio cameras like the Casio EXILIM EX-ZR100, and its successor, the Casio EXILIM EX-ZR200, do not allow manual shutter control while in video mode. They go up to 1/4000th of a second in automatic mode, but I am not sure how that is triggered. On some of the golf forums they are complaining about getting blurring of the club head using these cameras.
I have found some camcorders that do 60p and have a manual shutter control up to 1/10000th of a second.
In your opinion would 60p with a high speed manual shutter produce better results than 120 or 240fps with an automatic shutter?
Thanks,
Blake

Yep! She emailed me and said she was going to use it. So I got up at 6am. Pretty cool.

Yes. I've thought it makes the list after my first successful cloning!

Merchandise
John
Ever thought of doing merchandise? Tennisplayer.net T-shirts and Caps? It's a great way to fly the flag. I get seen by lots of players and coaches in my neck of the woods. People might be curious and say what's this Tennisplayer.net all about?...and of course I would tell them.
Just wondered if you've ever given it any thought?

Jon,
Try google when you want to know about someone ok? He's a physical trainer who works for USTA.
The articles are starting soon.

I am extremely excited about these 3D analysis articles as well. Any idea in regards to when we might be seeing these? End of the year maybe?
Quick question, why does the name Mark Kovacs sound very familiar? Has he worked with a top player before or is it somewhere else that I've heard it? They'll be really interesting as well.
Keep up the good work John. Loving every minute of the site.

Drills
John, I've followed you and your site(s) for years and really like your approach to the game. Question: How about adding a section for "practice drills"? I think it would be very helpful to most and an interesting section on a monthly basis.

Thaiteppy,
Wecome to the site and it's a good question. Lift, push, and rotate, but how much in what order?
If you are aiming for that model finish point the push and lift take care of themselves and the rotation is the variable. A flatter forehand hit with a conservative grip will have less. A more extreme grip will naturally have more.
And then it can all be varied to almost infinite degrees. Check out this article on hand and arm rotation and see if that makes it clear.

Basic drive
Hi john,
I am a new member and it's the first post.
For the basic drive, is that we should lift and push from shoulder until reaching the universal extension or push and lift then rotate the arm 90 degree?
