Roger Federer Physical Training circa 1999
Hello All,
I wanted to share a short clip of Roger's training during the early years of his training in the Swiss National Tennis Center in Biel (Switzerland). I found this video via Youtube, however, it originates from a Swiss Television special circa 1999 which was broadcasted during that time. Just for reference, all footage was filmed at the Swiss Tennis Center, as they have a full gym in the basement. The conditioning coach during that time was, Paul Dorochenko, please see the second link for an extensive interview (courtesy of Swissinfo.org). Furthermore, as I remember it correctly, Roger Federer's current fitness coach, Pierre Paganini, was at that time no longer working with the Swiss federation, however, as you all know, he was rehired and has been Federer's private coach for the past 10 years. In my opinion, Pierre Paganini, is one--if not--the best fitness coach in Tennis today. Please see the third link for a recent interview with Pierre Paganini (courtesy of Tages Anzeiger). Enjoy!
