Is there any interest in putting something by Oscar Wegner on the famous coaches section?

Seems his contributions to Russian, South American, and Spanish tennis have been considerable on the pro tour of late.

Anyone have ideas to share about what his methods? good or not so good?

Sorry to post a late reply on this thread, but I only just noticed it.

I went on a course (here in the UK) that promoted the Oscar Wegner teaching methods where they taught coaches how to teach the 'Wegner Way'.

Yes, it was interesting and different but like all teaching systems it's not a magic formula. The gifted tend to make their way thru any teaching system (or even inspite of one!).

The LTA are all powerful here in the UK and they accept Wegner's teaching philosophy but don't endorse it - which is like a death sentence in itself.

There are a number of unexplained mysteries in the world: black holes, the bermuda triangle, the riddle of life itself,...and then there's British tennis. Why is it - despite having more money than any other tennis organization in the world- that Britain has only produced 3 good tennis players in 30 years?

Work that one out if you can?!

      tcuk,

Yes, I understand that no one teaching system overcomes all tennis challenges,
but Oscar's contribution to some of the hottest tennis areas on the globe is quite amazing. And remember, this was for famous coaches, not for Classic Lessons or teaching systems.

Are you saying endorsing Oscar by the LTA would be a death sentence or not being endorsed is a death sentence? LOL

thanks for commenting and I hope to hear from JY on this when he has time. Maybe I should put it under another title like suggestions for the site?

LOL...not being endorsed is a death sentence. The LTA are all powerful and unless they get behind your concept you're doomed to a low key existence or failure. They promote their teaching systems powerfully and run courses, seminars, etc., across the land for free (or subsidised) so coaches flock to these to gain their coach license points.

You must have a licence here in the UK to coach. You have to attend around 3 courses a year to keep your licence up to date.

Coaches can gain licences points via Oscar Wegner's courses, but these courses are expensive to attend. Consequently coaches always opt for the cheaper (or free) courses laid on by the LTA.

This is how the LTA keep a stranglehold.
