Theses Are some of my strokes, and i basicly took all the components, of the federer articles, and tryed to just do whay he does. But some how i look really different? Maby you could care to comment?

Im selftaught under the strict tootilage of John Yandell, Nick Bolleteriie , And my personal favorite, Mr. Robert Lans... my spelling is por!


Im allways trying to find better ways to hit the ball and some how i have come to this and i thought i had good technique, Until i watched my self on camra and found out , i dont look anything like any of the pros???

Damn, that looks pretty good.

But you're right Federer doesn't play in a knit cap.

The left arm across looks STRONG! Extension and hand rotation are great.

The only difference is in the backswing. Look at about frame 15 and see how far the racket head is pointing back behind. So maybe that part of the motion could be more compact. Still your hand seems to stay on your right side.

That's actually an impressive assimilation.

Now ive been expermenting with trying to turn the racket over on the backhand side, using extreme hand and arm rotation, and i think i getting better at it.

Please try to use shorter senences

I up Loaded A clip of my old full weastern forehand, and put it in slow motion,
then i up loaded a clip of my new eastern , so i could compare the differences and it looks like im pulling the racket at an angle, into the ball. In the same way nadal apears to be doing it.

So yes it deffinitly goes farther behind me than the way federer does, the but of Federer points at the ball with the but of the racket, a whole lot sooner, than mine.

But in the full weastern clip , my first grip, in order for me to gennerate extreme spin with tons of pace, i think i had to pull it like that , subconishly.

So when i changed grips to an eastern, i was used to that motion , and it actually flowed perfectly into my new grip, so i guess i just kept doing the same thing, thats why something to me did'nt look right, because i thought i met most the check points of the federer forehand, only i was pulling it at more of an angle to the ball, which can explane, how i can hit the ball so hard , and im almost not even trying. I use almost zero energy.

6 months ago i switched to an eastern forehand grip.

Previously i used a full / extreme weastern forehand.

When i was using my old weastern i pulled the racket toward the fence and whipped it through the ball. Not to techinical there.

I dont bring the racket butt straight at the ball like federer , like John , quickly said and pointed out.

Can't really see much on that backhand-don't think you were running the shutter. Extreme grip and hand rotation are two separate factors though.

Well Im Actually using a digital camera so its tough to find good clips.

Yes , the grip and the extream rotation are seperate factors, Ill have some better footage up in the next few minutes.

Damn, I think that looks pretty good too. It's nice to see someone integrating these elements into a stroke that looks natural.

My only thought is that you may be over emphasizing the hand and arm rotation--or at least that you want to be able to come through with the racket on edge when appropriate and hit flatter. That big cross step is hard to pull off but I think you are making it work.

Well i have been working for the last week, on trying to turn it over, im still figuring it out.

But up intil a week ago i allways kept the racket on edge, and hit very flat.
