Murray's forehand-technically ugly?

I have studied Murray's forehand quite extensively, and while it is not the flashiest forehand, his fundamentals are outstanding. Excellent torso rotation into and through the hit. Full wiper motion from contact on. Not a big backswing which helps with consistency and return of serve. It's not going to win him a lot of free points, but I think it's an excellent example of the double bend, wiper forehand to study and model.
Also, I think brett701 is right on about the similarity to Blake's minor wrist layback. Another reason for me to believe Murray would be less prone to timing errors off his forehand.
The forehand I like least (in terms of aesthetics) ... Gasquet. I also never liked the look of Courier's forehand.Last edited by jeffreycounts; 03-19-2008, 06:21 PM.

And yes, i do believe he really has the fundamentals of the forehand applied very well.Last edited by brett701; 03-25-2008, 06:59 AM.

is it ugly or is it federer?
when you look not at the stroke but at the way the racket head goes through the ball and turns over is't very similar to the fed only by eleminating the amount of rist lay back he dosent have the ability to keep it on edge and really drive through it. which is why he stands 5 feet behind the baseline and "clown's around!" i think thats what federer said is in it?
