Diego has certainly defied a lot of odds. Being a small man in a big man's game is a significant deficit in today's tennis. I really don't know how he's done it. He moves so well and is resilient as they come, but there could also be an element of 'small man syndrome'. As a tiny friend (5'2") of mine says, tiny guys either fold up into nothing or they learn to bite harder than anyone else. Maybe Diego just learned to fight harder than pretty much everyone else.

While the returns of Agassi and Djokovic get far more attention (rightfully given their success) numbers wise Diego is one of the best returns of serve ever.
