  • Stockholm/Anvers/Almaty ATP 250's, and of course, 6 Kings Slam

Stan is looking like the old Stan the Man, moving into the semis in Stockholm with a great win over Rublev in 2 tiebreak sets. At 6 Kings yesterday, Novak vs Sinner was actually a very high caliber match played just as if it was a regular ATP tournament match. Sinner won in 3. Sidenote, it is the first time I can recall the Trainer being called out in an Exhibition Match. In the other match, Alcaraz pretty much was smooth sailing vs Nadal. The payout at 6 Kings is all 6 players receive 1.5 million, with the winner getting 6 million. Medvedev and Rune played 1 match, each losing in 2 sets. Oh well, still get 1.5 million.

    Yup.

$1 Million+ for an Hour of Tennis

The strange "Six Kings" exo in Riyadh is over seemingly in less time than it took many of the entrants to fly there. The tournament, aka LIV golf for tennis, started with quarterfinals where Daniil Medvedev lost in 69 minutes and Holger Rune capitulated in a mere 72 minutes. So their dismal efforts "earned" them the event "minimum" of $1.5 Million. Each.

Djokovic and Rafael Nadal got "byes" { or is it buys?} into the semifinals, despite Jannick Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz being higher seeded. Yup, exo. Djoko beat Rafa in the pair's 'consolation round' for third place. Sinner beat Alcaraz for the title to win $6 Million dollars. Look at how the top prize compares to the biggest tournaments in pro tennis
