My dear old tennis coach Sherman Collins used to say..."food for thought".

Roger Federer vs. Juan Martin Del Potro...2017 Miami Open 3rd round

Terrible shame about losing the presence of Juan Martin Del Potro to injury too early in his career. Here is Roger dismantling the "Jolly Green Argentine Giant" in the second round of the 2017 Miami Open. Truly a watershed moment in the resurrected career of Roger Federer after the equipment change. A change I was advocating years before he actually did it. I posted this match for arturohernandez to encourage his daughter to begin to learn to drive the ball on her backhand. Federer's backhand was literally reinvented with the extra real estate in the face of his racquet as his drive was vastly improved and just as importantly his slice backhand found some added bite. Great viewing here...much more entertaining than the present crew made up of the veterans hanging by their fingernails and the young wolves nipping at their heels.

Rats!!! The youtube channel with all of these absolutely priceless Roger Federer condensed matches has been canceled and the videos are no longer available. A terrible loss for Roger Federer aficionados.
